The word “Ayurveda” combines the Sanskrit words ayur (life) and veda (science or knowledge). This system of healing aims to integrate and balance the body, mind, and spirit in order to attain happiness, health, and prevent illness. A chief aim of Ayurvedic practices is to cleanse the body of substances that can cause disease, thus helping to re-establish harmony and balance.
Every Ayurvedic session will start with an assessment of one’s body type and imbalances in order to select the appropriate oils for treatment. These oils have demonstrated powerful antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties and are quickly absorbed by the body. The oils help maintain good cholesterol (HDL) and lower bad cholesterol (LDL) as well as attract oil soluble toxins and flush them out of the body.
